OUR BEGINNINGS
View From the Cliff Top at Ostrov Borzoi on Lopez
Island
Based on Lopez Island in Washington State, Ostrov Borzoi
over looks San Juan island and the Straits of Juan de Fuca
with the Olympic Penninsula in the distance. Ostrov means
island in Russian and we felt that this was an apt name for
our new establishment, which was founded in 2003 when
Zabava Monoceros, AKA Strelka, came to live with us at the
age of 10 months. Strelka swiftly integrated herself into
our hearts. Ostrov Borzoi are family members first and
foremost. We are dedicated to showing and breeding healthy
borzoi in both body and mind. Our establishment is small
allowing us to owner handle our show dogs and generally
spoil them rotten.
